WHAT MAKES US SPECIAL
AFA’s programs: Cosmetology
AFA’s programs: Cosmetology, Barbering, Full Specialist, Massage, Facial Specialist and Nail Technology – all meet Delaware’s requirements for licensing for that specific profession.
The laws and requirements for Cosmetology licensing vary by state. Also, the rules for reciprocity, which is a type of transfer that means another state will allow you to work utilizing the license of your current state, also vary.
Other things that vary are a transfer, when a state other than your home state of licensure allows you to perform cosmetology services legally, renewal schedules, fees, regulations and continuing education requirements.
State Authorization is the determination by a higher education agency Delaware Department of Education’s Commission for Independent Education. If you plan to work in another state, outside of Delaware, you may have to meet additional requirements to be licensed in that state.
Below you will find the Cosmetology License Reciprocity requirements in each state. These requirements are subject to review and updates, as they may change from time to time. If you plan to transfer your Delaware license to another state, you will need to contact the licensing agency in that state.
AFA can provide you with a list of state licensing contacts and information upon request.
